Golden Syrup Flapjack Traybake

Flapjack the way it's meant to be: jumbo oats bound with plenty of butter and golden syrup, baked until the edges catch and turn chewy-toffee-ish, then cut into nine thick squares.

We don't add anything fancy — no seeds, no yoghurt drizzle — because a proper flapjack doesn't need it. It's the traybake for walking-boot pockets, school-run bribery and elevenses with a strong cup of tea.

Arrives as a boxed traybake of 9 squares. Keeps for a good 10 days in an airtight tin, which makes it one of the best bakes to post as a little cheer-up parcel.
